This is a beautiful article by #PhysicianOutlook, and so inspirational. Congratulations to Dr. Leger! Such great talent, manifested in this beautiful portrait of one of the greatest, RBG.

Excellent article! Agree 100%. We must share best outpatient protocols in the tx of Covid. Could save many lives. Inpatient nebulizing is not even a choice, for example (to avoid spread).

Out of the mouths of babes. This rockstar teen is using her voice for change!

This article, written by Lindsey Holt, rheumatologist Dr. Melissa Hawkins-Holt's teenage daughter, right before Thanksgiving, was shared widely and has made the rounds on Instagram, being shared over 400 times.

Her local Board of Education student representative read what Lindsey wrote and brought it up at a meeting.

Calorie tracking now no longer allowed in any county Health curriculum!!!!!! All high schools and middle schools in her home county are being notified immediately of the change.

Great common sense from this young lady! Calorie-tracking is not only senseless as part of this assignment, but can initiate a very unhealthy cycle in teenagers.

It didn't feel like Medicine that I was practicing this last semester in my role as a college campus physician. I was part sleuth, part bed-and-breakfast operator, part public health servant...and a tiny part doctor!

Great article too. I find that in the college age group, their social gatherings outside the school is what creates a spike in cases. Excellent article.

Qualifications

Dr. Marlene Wüst-Smith is a Latina Physician who graduated from Cornell University with her Bachelor of Sciences in 1985 and with her Medical Doctorate in 1989. She has been a practicing pediatrician for over 30 years and has had the honor of caring for children and their families across the socioeconomic spectrum, from the very poor in North Central rural Pennsylvania to the very rich of the Upper East Side of Manhattan and the East End of Long Island in the Hamptons. She currently sees patients of ALL ages (including NON-pediatric patients) through telemedicine, and at the small private University where she works as the campus Medical Director and physician during the academic year.

She has a passion for making sure that all patients are able to access the highest quality care and understands the many factors involved in ensuring that care is safe, effective and affordable. She believes that the practice of Medicine is founded in a Physician-led, team-based approach where the patient is the most important variable, and the primary relationship is between the doctor and the patient.

Physicians must remain autonomous in order to best serve our patients and fulfill our Hippocratic Oath of "Do No Harm."
