Dr. Diaz-Ochu has been dedicated to advocating for both children and their parents throughout her professional career. After graduating with her medical degree from the University of Texas, Dr. Diaz-Ochu completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah.
In 2016, she was promoted to Assistant Professor at University of Utah School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics where she specialized in treating newborns suffering from neonatal opioid withdrawal (NOWS) after in utero opioid exposure. Her work with the University of Utah Substance Use and Pregnancy Recovery Addiction Dependence (SUPeRAD) program reinforced her passion for caring for patients with special health care needs and her commitment to treating their parents with respect and compassion.
To create a true medical home for Salt Lake City families, Dr. Diaz-Ochu opened Bee Home Pediatrics in 2022. Her multidisciplinary, holistic approach allows children to receive medical care in the moment and help their parents set a solid foundation for their physical, mental, and emotional health in the years to come. Dr. Diaz-Ochu has a special interest in children’s nutrition—one she shares with her own two sons. Together, they love to garden, manage their at-home fruit orchard, and raise their own hive of honeybees.
